What they did was make a completely new game, that happens to resemble the original setting and story. You cannot 'port' a game just like that, you'd run into some serious legal issues. We cannot 'port' anything unless we are affiliated with the project, we can just do what Black Mesa team did. Besides, the last time I checked on it, it was incomplete (story-wise).Also, Half-Life 1 was ported to Source just for the sake of moving it away from an outdated and unsupported engine, as it doesn't introduce any graphical improvements at all. Half-Life 3 is most likely to utilize Source 2 engine, though. Half-Life 2 is out of the question. Left 4 Dead 2 / Source 2 demo we saw was merely a demonstration of the the new engine's capabilities.
